Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the questions we are most often asked. If your question does not appear below, please submit it here.
Why don’t I see a place to order?
We have temporarily closed our online and mail-in order forms because we are moving all of our inventory to another location. This will take a few months, and during that time we will unfortunately be unable to fill orders. We will re-enable ordering in mid-March, so please check back then! We apologize for the inconvenience!
Do you accept credit cards?
Unfortunately, we are no longer able to accept credit cards. However, you may order online using PayPal, or mail us a check with our mail-in order form.
The metal tag that attaches to the stake of my marker is becoming loose. How can I prevent this?
The tag the label is mounted onto is designed to be able to be taken off the stake if needed. Therefore, over time it may loosen. By using pliers to tighten the edges of the metal backing to the stake about every year, you may prevent loss.
Can I special-order markers for plants other than roses?
We give you the option of special-ordering markers or labels for any plant, flower, or anything else! On our special-marker/label ordering page, just type in what you would like your marker or label to say (up to three lines long).
Can I send my order with a check in the mail instead of using PayPal?
Feel free to fill in and then print out our mail-in order form if you prefer to send a check instead of using our online PayPal option. Please make the check out to Lauren Hallstrom, the owner of Flower Markers.
Are the markers permanent?
Our flower markers and labels are made with sun-, water- and fade-resistant ink. They are covered in a lens made of polyurethane resin that further protects the face of each marker. In addition, our stakes are rust-resistant and sturdy. While they may not last forever, our flower markers have been tested for over ten years and are made to last.

I would like to purchase a special order rose marker, but I do not know the year or country of hybridization for the rose. Can you help with this?
If you don’t have all the information needed for a special-order rose you would like to order, we are happy to do the research for you. With the name and color of the rose, we can usually find information about the breeding/introduction year and the rose’s country of origin. We will contact you via email if we have any questions about your order or if we are unable to find any information on your rose.
What is the difference between a flower marker and a label?
A label is 1 x 2 ½ inches and is water- and fade-resistant. All labels are peel-and-stick and stick to most flat, room-temperature surfaces. A marker includes a label mounted to a metal plate on a 10-inch long metal, rust-resistant stake.
